My Story

I'm a small town girl.
I grew up in a town of 3,000 people.
A town with a blinking light and a small country store.
I spent my summers riding my bike up and down the back country roads.
And speeding down the hill to the store to
buy Fire Stix and Red Hots. Remember those?
I wrote about my childhood here
 Small Town Simplicity

My heritage is important to me. I credit who I am to my parents. I am a second generation Jesus Lover and so grateful to my mom who pioneered with my father from the big city in California to a tiny town in Oregon.
It is there she found community, friendship and her love of Jesus.
I tell that story here
His story.....her story...became my story

As a teen I remember seeing the man I would marry
from a distance and thought in my spirit
"I will marry that man".
Five years later he asked me out on a date.
A year and a half we were married and six years later
we welcomed our first baby.
Some of that story here
Changing heaven one human at a time

Being married to my man landed me smack dab in the
middle of facing the uglies in myself.
Bit by bit I began to be stripped of assumptions,
judgement, selfishness and truly began to understand
God's passionate love for people.
 I share about it here
Small Girl...a BIG lesson learned

I work and live in a small one grocery store town
in the beautiful Pacific Northwest
where the youth and families that I mentor
and encourage are also my neighbors and friends.
I write about it here
The Peeps that own my heart

I am passionate about

So you are welcome to follow along.
 I write about my life,
and what I feel the Holy Spirit is teaching me.
I am a Certified Prevention Specialist by profession and
I will soon be adding a page that will
include encouragement specifically to moms of teens.
Teenagers are the core of my work and I am
in the midst of mothering teens in my home.
My hope is that you will be
encouraged and empowered by what you find here.

And last I leave you with a photo of my family.
