A few months ago my husband hatched a plan.
A family project of sorts. That each of us would create
a poster that would reflect our goals and dreams.
The challenge of this was to figure out what those goals were.
What did God have for us?.......
as a family
as individuals
We purchased big pieces of poster board.
Dug out the markers from the craft supplies and dreamed.
We started with drawing a line across the length of the card stock.
Creating marks for 1 year, 2 year, 3 year goals. Willy would ask the girls and think out loud. "What would you girls like to accomplish?"
"How do you see your self at age 20, 30, 40?"
"How do you see your self at age 20, 30, 40?"
"How do you see your self at age 70?"
Hannah: "I see myself as wrinkly...."
Of course we all laughed. Sometimes for a young person that is just tooooo far down the road. So we stayed in the 1 - 5 year range.
We suggested that their goals would be on one side of the line.
Their dreams and desires be on the other side.
As we were designing I was reminded of this scripture.
"Write down the revelation, make it plain,
so that you may run with it." Habakkuk 2
The ritual of writing it down. Putting it before your eyes.
Giving life to your thoughts.
This is faith in action.
This project will be one that we will revisit. It is just the beginning.
Although there has been difficulties.....
we rise to dream again.
Oh, and we can't forget our fluffy friend...
Tobey wanted to get in on the action.
He sat at the end of the table.....
I am sure he was dreaming of mice........
hands that would reach down to pet him........
and tasty cat treats.
